Nigerian singer Oludipe David, popularly known as Spyro, has revealed that he would remain financially secure even if he stopped making music, citing corporate events as his main source of income.
Speaking on the Adesope Live show, the Who Is Your Guy singer said his music style appeals to diverse audiences, making him a go-to performer for elite and corporate gatherings.
“If I stop making music today, I’m made. A lot of people don’t know that because I don’t brag,” Spyro said.
He explained that unlike many peers who focus on industry shows, he has carved a niche performing for banks, high-profile business figures like Tony Elumelu, and family-friendly events. “Because when they are looking for clean music, maybe because children are going to be at the event, only few artists like myself, Chike and Johnny Drille can be called upon,” he added.
Beyond music, Spyro confirmed that he has diversified his income through investments to safeguard his future, underlining a strategic approach to wealth beyond performance revenue.
His comments shed light on how some Nigerian artists are leveraging alternative avenues within the entertainment ecosystem to ensure long-term financial stability.
