Spotify has announced that its global user base reached 751 million monthly active users (MAUs) by the end of the fourth quarter, with 290 million paying subscribers.
The streaming giant added a record 38 million MAUs in Q4, surpassing its forecast of 32 million. “It’s incredible to think that we now serve over three-quarters of a billion people around the world,” co-CEO Alex Norstrom said.
Norstrom also confirmed that Spotify met or exceeded guidance across all major metrics for the quarter. The platform added nine million new premium subscribers, one million more than expected.
Q4 revenue rose to 4.5 billion euros ($5.4 billion), marking a seven percent increase year-on-year. Net profit soared to 1.2 billion euros, compared with 367 million euros during the same period in 2024. For the full year of 2025, Spotify reported total revenue of 17.2 billion euros.
The company underwent leadership changes at the start of 2026. Founder Daniel Ek stepped down as CEO, passing the role to co-CEOs Norstrom and Gustav Soderstrom, though he remains actively involved as executive chairman.
Looking ahead, Spotify expects to reach 759 million MAUs by the end of Q1 2026, continuing its momentum in the global music streaming market.
