Sophia Momodu, the mother of singer Davido’s first child, Imade, has dismissed claims that she intentionally kept the child away from the musician’s recent birthday celebration in Atlanta.
In a series of posts shared on Snapchat, she pushed back against the criticism, saying the narrative circulating online is both untrue and unfair. Sophia stressed that she has endured similar accusations for more than a decade but will not tolerate any storyline that involves her daughter.
According to her, safeguarding Imade’s privacy and emotional well-being remains her top priority. She urged the public to direct their opinions at her if they must, but to keep her child out of controversies.
“You people have been doing this false narrative thing for over 10 years now,” she wrote. “Say whatever you want about me, it’s okay. But leave my child alone. This is non-negotiable.”
Sophia also hinted at taking legal steps against individuals or platforms sharing false information about Imade.
The reaction follows widespread chatter about the child’s absence from Davido’s 33rd birthday celebration, which was attended by family and friends, including his daughter Hailey.
