Renowned Nigerian singer Sola Allyson has disclosed that she does not live with her husband, providing a candid look into her marital life.
Speaking in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, the 54-year-old artist, famous for her hit album Eji Owuro, explained that although she is married, she and her husband maintain separate residences.
“I’m married, but I’m not in my husband’s house. We live separately,” Allyson stated.
When asked whether her song Eji Owuro reflected the love she experienced in her marriage, Allyson admitted that reality did not match the romantic ideals often portrayed.
“We lied before. Those older than us didn’t inform us that it’s tough. They made us believe that so long as you both love each other, you will live happily ever after, but it’s a lie. That’s not the experience I have. I didn’t have the experience of living happily ever after. I did all I could to make it work,” she explained.
Through her revelations, Allyson sheds light on the complexities of marriage, challenging societal expectations while promoting honesty and realistic perspectives on love.
