The manager of singer Simi has dismissed circulating reports that she and her husband, Adekunle Gold, are heading for a divorce, describing the viral claim as false.
According to Vincent, Simi’s manager, the rumours stemmed from a fabricated document presented online as a divorce petition allegedly filed by Adekunle Gold.
The circulated document, dated February 28, 2026, claimed the couple’s marriage had “irretrievably broken down” and cited alleged emotional, financial, and professional control issues. It also sought dissolution of the marriage and joint custody of their child. Some reports suggested the petition had been filed at the High Court of Lagos State.
Vincent refuted the claims, pointing out several inconsistencies in the document:
“It’s fake and fabricated. First, stage names are not tenable in any court of justice worldwide as indicated in the document. Even the suit number on the document is backdated to 2024 (SUIT NO HCL/FC/2024/0178),” he said.
The rumours gained traction after some old posts attributed to Simi resurfaced on social media, with users reading into them as signs of marital strain. Adekunle Gold’s recent return to social media also fueled speculation among fans.
Simi and Adekunle Gold first met as collaborators and friends before dating and marrying in January 2019. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Adejare “Deja”, in 2020 and reportedly celebrated the birth of twins earlier in 2026. They recently marked their seventh wedding anniversary, sharing heartfelt tributes to each other online.
Fans and followers can rest assured that the couple remains united, and the viral divorce petition is entirely unfounded.
