A family in Siaya County is appealing to the Kenyan government to help repatriate the body of their kin, John Okoth Ogutu, who was reportedly shot dead by police during election protests in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
According to the family, the 33-year-old teacher at Sky Schools in Dar es Salaam was killed while heading to buy food at Gaba Centre.
His sister, Celestine Ogutu, said she became anxious after hearing reports of unrest in Tanzania and was later informed of her brother’s death.
Ogutu’s body is currently preserved at Mwananyamala Mortuary in Dar es Salaam.
