Shooting Stars head coach, Nurudeen Aweroro, acknowledged that his side faced significant challenges despite securing a narrow victory over El-Kanemi Warriors.
The Oluyole Warriors managed a 1–0 triumph at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Sunday, with Ismail Ayodele delivering the decisive strike.
Aweroro praised his players for showing strong resolve throughout the encounter.
“We worked so hard to score more goals but we are contented with the one goal we scored,” Aweroro told 3SCfanstv.
“We had to defend towards the end of the game to preserve our goal, the victory gives us more confidence to ahead of our next game.”
The Ibadan-based club will now shift their attention to a rescheduled midweek clash against reigning league champions Remo Stars on Wednesday, as they continue their push in the Nigeria Premier Football League campaign.
