Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has shared why she avoids long-distance road travel within Nigeria, revealing that she is uncomfortable with road trips beyond the Lagos-Ibadan route.
The actress made the disclosure during a recent interview with media personality VJ Adams, where she spoke candidly about her transportation preferences and how they have shaped her lifestyle.
Bello explained that while she enjoys road trips outside the country, she deliberately avoids them in Nigeria due to concerns about infrastructure and security. According to her, she prefers travelling by air or water when moving within the country.
“I prefer water and air transportation. I don’t like road trips. I can do road trips abroad, but in Nigeria, no, thank you,” she said.
The veteran actress noted that her stance has had a noticeable impact on her social life, as friends and associates are often reluctant to invite her to events or visits that require long road journeys.
She added that she only makes exceptions when the person she is visiting holds significant importance to her, stressing that even then, there are limits.
“Once it is farther than Ibadan, count me out,” Bello said, acknowledging that her preference has become widely known among her circle.
Her comments have since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians relating to her concerns and sharing similar experiences about road travel across the country.
