Media personality Shade Ladipo has issued a public apology to singer Tiwa Savage over her previous criticism following the 2021 leak of the singer’s private video.
In an Instagram post, Ladipo admitted she judged Tiwa unfairly, initially blaming the singer for the incident. She explained that, at the time, she reacted harshly without considering Tiwa’s perspective.
“I was one of the people who blasted Tiwa Savage when that s3x tape came out. I’ll be honest. I blamed her. I was like, you know what? How can you be over 40? Cause we are mates and you’re still messing around with people like this,” Ladipo wrote.
Reflecting on her actions, she acknowledged that her reaction was misplaced and unsupportive, expressing empathy for the singer’s pain.
“In hindsight, I wonder why I was blaming her so hard for something that happened to her. I felt her pain. And I just want to say to you, I love you. I’m sorry!”
The apology comes as fans continue to recall the 2021 controversy, when Tiwa Savage raised alarms about being blackmailed over the video involving her and her partner.
Ladipo’s message has been widely shared online, highlighting the importance of accountability and compassion when commenting on the personal struggles of public figures.
