Seun Kuti, Nigerian musician and youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, has responded to a controversial tribute by dancer and singer Korra Obidi at his father’s grave.
According to journalists, Korra visited Nigeria over the weekend and performed a twerking tribute to honour Fela Kuti at his burial site. Sharing the moment on Instagram, she explained:
“I gave baba an offering. We visited the grave site of Anikulapo Kuti today, and we all know that one thing Fela loved was a woman with Gyrating hips. So I decided to twerk for baba.”
Seun Kuti praised the gesture, noting that it resonated with his father’s vibrant lifestyle and cultural influence.
“You guys know what baba likes but you will never give him what he wants. E go better for you my sister,” he commented.
