The Confederation of African Football has finalized the payout structure for the top-performing nations at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Senegal claimed the prestigious trophy and a record-breaking grand prize after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the host nation in extra time. Midfielder Pape Gueye struck a sensational goal early in the added period to break the deadlock and secure his country’s second continental title.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe confirmed that the champions will receive a landmark $10 million, representing a significant 43% increase from the $7 million awarded during the 2023 tournament. Morocco takes home $4 million as the silver medalist, while Nigeria earns $2.5 million for their third-place finish. Egypt receives $1.3 million for finishing fourth in the competition.
The revised financial structure also extends substantial rewards to teams that exited in the earlier stages. Each quarter-finalist receives $800,000, while nations finishing third in their respective groups bank $700,000. Even teams finishing at the bottom of their groups earn $500,000, highlighting CAF’s commitment to increasing the commercial value and competitiveness of African football.
