President Bola Tinubu has approved the constitution of Nigeria’s delegation to the U.S.-Nigeria Joint Working Group, which will be led by National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, as part of efforts to deepen cooperation on security challenges.
Presidential Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
The approval follows recent high-level engagements in Washington, D.C., led by the NSA, which focused on intelligence sharing, defence cooperation, and strategies to tackle terrorism and violent extremism.
Members of the delegation include:

The delegation’s secretariat will be led by Idayat Hassan from the Office of the NSA and Mr Paul Alabi of the Nigerian Embassy in the U.S.
President Tinubu directed the team to work closely with their U.S. counterparts to ensure the effective and seamless implementation of all agreed areas of cooperation, stressing the importance of coordinated efforts in intelligence sharing, counterterrorism operations, and security capacity building.
The delegation is expected to facilitate the delivery of technical support, defence resources, and strategic collaboration between the two countries to enhance Nigeria’s national security architecture.
