Activist Scott Iguma has disclosed that his uncle was kidnapped in Oluku, a town in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.
In a video shared on social media on Tuesday, Iguma said the abductors, whom he described as “Fulani terrorists in Edo State,” initially demanded a ransom of N100 million but later reduced it to N50 million.
He revealed that his uncle has been severely beaten and could barely speak during the last communication with his family.
“You see this insecurity that we have been talking about; if it has not come to your doorstep, you will not understand what is going on in this country. We’re totally surrounded,” Iguma said.
The activist also criticized the police, stating that although the matter has been reported at Ekiadolor Police Station, no meaningful action has been taken so far.
Efforts to reach Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Yamu, for comment were unsuccessful.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns over security in Edo State and the increasing prevalence of kidnappings in parts of Nigeria.
