Nigerian actress Scarlet Gomez has addressed concerns surrounding romantic scenes in films, explaining why her husband remains comfortable with her performing on-screen kisses.
Speaking during an appearance on the show Curiosity Made Me Ask, Gomez shed light on what she described as a common misconception about acting in Nollywood. According to her, many people struggle to separate professional roles from real-life relationships.
The discussion took a pointed turn when media personality Isbaeu questioned how actors manage intimacy on screen, suggesting that such scenes could create tension at home.
Gomez, however, dismissed the concern, stating that her marriage is built on trust and emotional maturity. She made it clear that her husband understands the nature of her job and does not feel threatened by her roles.
“I’m married to a man, not a boy,” she said, adding that her partner’s confidence and trust eliminate any room for insecurity.
Her comments underline a broader perspective on acting as a profession, where roles and personal identity are kept separate. Gomez emphasised that clear boundaries exist between her work and her private life, allowing her to fully commit to her craft without affecting her relationship.
The actress’s response highlights the importance of communication and mutual understanding in navigating the demands of the entertainment industry, particularly when it comes to portraying romantic scenes on screen.
