Nollywood actress Sarah Oghenekaro Akatugba, popularly known as Sarah Sweet, has opened up about her decision to remain single, revealing that her choice stems from her disappointment in men’s lack of honesty and responsibility.
Speaking candidly about her relationship status, the actress said she often receives romantic advances but chooses to stay single out of principle.
“I’m not single because no one is asking me out. I’m single because I’m tired of men’s deceit, disrespect, and inability to be responsible,” she said.
Sarah, who is also a chef, explained that loyalty, trust, and mutual respect are non-negotiable values in her relationships. She expressed frustration over how many people misunderstand the meaning of true friendship.
“Many don’t know what it means to call someone a friend. Friendship is about trust, not just being acquaintances or colleagues,” she said.
“If I call you my friend, I’m a hundred and ten percent committed. I don’t envy or backbite, and I expect the same energy in return.”
The actress added that she lives by her “Queen of 110 percent” philosophy, meaning she gives her all in every aspect of life, including relationships.
“If you have to be my husband, you have to come correct,” she added with a smile.
Beyond her acting career, Sarah’s philanthropic drive continues to grow. Her participation in Empire Mansion Season 2, a reality show, inspired her to deepen her community impact. She said the experience reinforced her passion for giving back to the less privileged, particularly young girls.
“I’ve always believed in empowering young girls through education and skills acquisition,” Sarah said, noting that she hopes to create more opportunities for women to thrive.
Sarah Sweet’s openness about relationships and values has sparked discussions among fans online, many praising her honesty and resilience.
