Veteran Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun has revealed how President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu intervened following a serious accident that left him in critical condition several years ago.
Balogun shared the account during an interview on Oyinmomo TV, describing the couple’s response as swift and deeply compassionate.
According to the actor, the severity of the accident prompted the President and his wife to insist that he be flown abroad for specialised medical care. Although he eventually received effective treatment within Nigeria, he said their readiness to act decisively on his behalf left a lasting impression.
He recalled asking the First Lady why she went to such lengths to support him. In response, she told him, “You are a star of God, and they must not let your light dim.”
Balogun said the statement profoundly reshaped his perspective on life and strengthened his belief in the value of compassion.
Reflecting on the experience, the actor added that he has since embraced the principle that caring for others invites divine protection in return, a lesson he says he intends to uphold.
