British YouTuber and BMX rider Ryan Taylor has spoken publicly for the first time about his short-lived engagement to Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy.
Appearing on The Ladders Podcast, the 32-year-old influencer reflected on the relationship, which began with a whirlwind romance and ended just months after their engagement.
Taylor, who proposed to Cuppy in December 2022 barely a month after they met, said the relationship faced early challenges that created emotional and professional distance between them.
“Is it weird that I told you she didn’t like Nigerians? She came into my business and didn’t even want Nigerian staff,” he said during the podcast.
The British content creator added that there were no legal agreements or contracts binding their relationship, emphasizing that he walked away with valuable life lessons rather than regrets.
“To be honest, what I got from that was lessons. Everything that happens, happens for a reason. But do I regret it? No. Lesson learned. Next! I learned that money is not everything, but not having it is,” he shared.
DJ Cuppy and Ryan Taylor’s engagement made headlines in December 2022, after the couple’s unexpected proposal during the Gumball 3000 rally drew widespread attention online.
By mid-2023, however, fans began to speculate about a breakup when the pair unfollowed each other on Instagram, signaling that their engagement had quietly come to an end.
Taylor’s latest comments mark the first time either party has publicly addressed the split, shedding light on what may have gone wrong behind the scenes of one of social media’s most talked-about celebrity romances.
