President William Ruto has hinted at a possible ODM–UDA merger ahead of the 2027 general election. He urged ODM leaders and members to strengthen the party in preparation for planned negotiations with UDA.
Speaking in Muhuru Bay, Migori County, during the Piny Luo Festival, Ruto said that as a founding member of ODM, he has no intention of sidelining the party.
UDA and ODM entered into a working agreement in March this year.
The President also vowed to protect, by all means necessary, Kenyan citizens working on Migingo Island from harassment by Ugandan police officers.
