Actor and filmmaker Rotimi Salami has released the official trailer for Kilanko: The Invincible Child, the last project directed by the late Allwell Ademola.
The film is scheduled to premiere in cinemas nationwide on March 6, 2026. It marks Ademola’s final directorial work and features her on-screen performance, underscoring her commitment to storytelling before her passing.
Salami, who produced the film, described the project as a collaborative effort. He said Ademola poured her energy and passion into the production, making the upcoming release an emotional milestone. According to him, the feeling surrounding the premiere is more daunting than celebratory.
In promoting the trailer, Salami shared a reflective caption hinting at the film’s themes of hidden pain, sacrifice and spiritual depth. He characterised the movie as a powerful narrative that explores resilience and portrays mothers as symbolic figures of strength.
The cast includes notable Nollywood names such as Saidi Balogun, Ibrahim Chatta, Biola Adebayo, and Saka Oyetoro, adding star power to the production.
The project has also drawn support from industry heavyweights. Box office star Funke Akindele reshared the trailer on her Instagram page, generating thousands of reactions from fans.
Salami has called on audiences and colleagues across the industry to rally behind the film. He emphasised that the movie reflects Ademola’s vision of celebrating the strength and resilience of African women, a legacy he hopes viewers will honour when it hits cinemas in March.
