Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has shared his thoughts on the passing of fellow actress Allwell Ademola, describing her death as a painful reminder that cardiac arrest can occur unexpectedly.
Speaking during an appearance on the Oyinmomo TV programme, Salami said he believes the actress’ death was simply a matter of timing, stressing that sudden cardiac arrest can affect anyone regardless of how carefully they manage their health.
According to the actor, Ademola was particularly mindful of her wellbeing, even though she lived with asthma.
“I believe it was just her time. Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone,” Salami said during the interview. “Many people know she was asthmatic, but she was very careful about her health.”
The death of Ademola shocked colleagues and fans across the Nigerian film industry. News of her passing surfaced on social media on December 27, when several actors and industry associates confirmed the development.
Following the announcement, family members, friends, and colleagues gathered in January for a service of songs and burial ceremony to honour the late actress.
Tributes from across Nollywood poured in during the period, with many remembering Ademola for her dedication to the craft and the impact she made within the industry. Her colleagues described her as a talented performer whose legacy will continue to resonate in the Nigerian film community.
