Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has unveiled a new initiative designed to discover, train, and empower emerging acting talents from the Ojo area of Lagos State.
The project, tagged “Project Make a Star in Ojo,” will be implemented through the Rotimi Salami Film Academy in collaboration with Ojo Local Government.
Speaking about the initiative, Salami said the goal is to give back to the community that shaped his career while offering aspiring actors a platform to showcase their potential.
In a recent interview on Biola Bayo’s podcast, Talk to B, the actor revealed that the first film to emerge from the initiative will be titled “Ojo Breed.”
“I grew up in Ajangbadi, Ojo Local Government. I was born in Surulere, but my dad moved to Ajangbadi when I was very young. The Rotimi Salami you know is a full Ajangbadi breed,” he said.
Salami expressed deep pride in his roots and applauded others from the area who continue to strive for success despite challenges.
“I want to give back to Ajangbadi people. I’m working on a project called ‘Make a Star,’ and our first movie will be titled Ojo Breed. About 80% of the cast and crew will most likely be from Ojo,” he added.
The actor also noted that he is open to collaborations and partnerships from individuals and organizations willing to support the project’s execution.
With Project Make a Star in Ojo, Rotimi Salami aims to create a lasting impact in Nollywood by bridging the gap between local talent and national visibility.
