Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has cautioned manager Ruben Amorim that his time at Old Trafford may be running out following Sunday’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City.
The result leaves Amorim with just eight wins in 31 Premier League games since taking charge, piling pressure on his reign despite the club insisting his position remains safe.
United’s upcoming fixtures against Chelsea, Brentford, and Sunderland are now seen as crucial to his future.
Rooney, speaking after the derby, admitted he is struggling to see progress under Amorim:
“Frankly, it’s not good enough. I want to be as supportive and positive as I can, but it’s very difficult to say we’re seeing things that will get results in the near future. We’re seeing none of that.”
The Red Devils currently face mounting scrutiny as they look to salvage their season.
