Former England international and Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has identified his standout players in the Premier League so far this season, naming Bryan Mbeumo, Viktor Gyokeres, and Antoine Semenyo as his top three performers.
Rooney, speaking during an appearance on Amazon Prime’s Premier League coverage, praised the trio for their impressive consistency and influence on their respective teams throughout the current campaign.
According to Rooney, Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has been one of the league’s brightest sparks, maintaining his strong form from the previous season.
“Top three, probably Semenyo, I think he’s been brilliant for Bournemouth, carrying on his form from last season,” Rooney said.
The former Manchester United captain also highlighted the impact of Bryan Mbeumo, who joined Manchester United from Brentford in the summer.
“I’d also put Bryan Mbeumo in there. I think he’s been really good for Manchester United, even after a difficult start to the season for the club. I think he’s been really good.”
Rooney rounded off his list with Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres, who has continued to impress since his arrival in North London.
“The third one, I’d probably go with Gyokeres.”
Rooney’s selections reflect some of the league’s most consistent and high-impact performers, with all three players contributing significantly to their clubs’ push for top-flight success this season.
