ROKO Construction Ltd has been named Contractor of the Year at the 2025 Uganda Construction Excellence Awards (UCEA).
The award was presented by the Uganda National Association of Builders, Suppliers and Engineering Contractors (UNABSEC) during a ceremony at the Imperial Royale Hotel on December 12.
The awards recognize outstanding performance in innovation, professionalism, quality, and sustainable practices within Uganda’s construction sector. In response to the award, ROKO’s chairman and managing director, Mark Koehler, said “This recognition reflects our long-standing commitment to quality and professionalism. It is a strong encouragement to our teams at every level.”
Koehler emphasized that careful planning, continuous improvement, and adherence to international standards are central to the company’s approach. He added that ROKO is preparing to undertake larger and more complex infrastructure projects in the coming year.
“Our focus remains on delivering reliable, high-quality infrastructure that meets client expectations and supports Uganda’s development,” he stated.
The company credits its consistent performance to strong in-house capacity and a focus on training technicians and craftsmen. In 2025, ROKO completed several major national projects, including the Uganda Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in Jinja and the new ministry of Finance headquarters.
Work also continues to advance on other key projects, such as the Parliament building and the National Planning Authority’s Planning House. These projects underscore ROKO’s ongoing role in developing Uganda’s infrastructure across multiple sectors.
