FC Robo Queens maintained their flawless start to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) campaign by securing a convincing 5–1 victory over Dannaz Ladies in Wednesday’s highly anticipated Lagos Derby. Prior to the encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, the club issued an urgent call for local supporters to energize the stadium atmosphere, a request that seemingly fueled their clinical performance on the pitch.
The technical crew emphasized the importance of vocal backing from the stands as a critical factor in maintaining their momentum at the top of the standings.
The league leaders asserted their authority early in the contest as Kemi Adegbuyi opened the scoring within the first six minutes of play. Tosin Rafiu quickly doubled the advantage just three minutes later, leaving the hosts struggling to contain the attacking pressure from the Queens.
Although Augusta Chukwuma managed to find a consolation goal for Dannaz Ladies in the 26th minute—the first goal Robo Queens have conceded this season—Opeyemi Ajakaiye restored the two-goal cushion before the halftime interval. Ajakaiye subsequently added her second goal of the match in the 65th minute before Rodiat Yusuf finalized the 5–1 scoreline with a spectacular late free kick.
This result solidifies the position of FC Robo Queens at the summit of the Group B table, where they now boast a perfect record of twelve points from four matches. In contrast, Dannaz Ladies remain in the bottom half of the standings with four points as the league enters its mid-season festive break.
