
Rivers United advanced to the second qualifying round of the CAF Champions League with a 1-0 aggregate win over Les Aigles of DR Congo, following a hard-fought 1-0 victory at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday.
Stephen Manyo scored the decisive goal on the stroke of half-time, finishing calmly inside the box after sustained pressure from Finidi George’s side.
The Port Harcourt club will now face Mozambican champions Black Bulls in the next round, while Nigeria’s other representative Remo Stars take on South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns.
