Remo Stars manager, Sulaiman Folarin, has accepted his side’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Shooting Stars, describing the outcome as a lesson his team will build on moving forward.
The Sky Blue Stars fell behind in the first half after Ismail Ayodele struck what proved to be the only goal of the match. Despite an organised effort throughout the encounter, Remo Stars were unable to convert their chances and stage a comeback.
Speaking after the game, Folarin said the team had travelled with the intention of securing maximum points but acknowledged that their strategy did not unfold as planned.
“We came here with the mindset to get a victory against Shooting Stars but our plans didn’t work out despite our hard work,” Folarin stated in a post-match interview.
The coach added that the staff and players will examine the areas where they fell short and strengthen the team’s approach ahead of their next outing.
“We will take positives from the defeat and make corrections on our deficiencies in the game ahead of our next match,” he continued.
Remo Stars will now shift their attention to a crucial fixture against nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba, with the match set to take place in Abeokuta.
