Wife of the President of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has met with Ayo Sotinrin, Managing Director and CEO of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), at the State House, Abuja, to discuss joint efforts aimed at tackling child malnutrition and strengthening food security across the country.
The meeting focused on the National Community Food Bank programme, recently launched by the First Lady. The initiative seeks to address child malnutrition at its source by promoting bio-fortified foods from the production stage, ensuring that healthier nutrition reaches communities nationwide.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Sotinrin commended the First Lady’s initiatives in agriculture, noting that her programs have made a significant impact on food security while also supporting maternal and child healthcare.
Sotinrin also highlighted discussions on the “Every Home A Garden” initiative, noting that the BOA is exploring a scheme to support female civil servants through the program, further advancing the Federal Government’s food security agenda.
Earlier, at the 2026 National Traditional and Religious Leaders Summit on Health, the First Lady flagged off an advocacy and awareness campaign for the National Community Food Bank programme, emphasizing its role in reducing malnutrition and improving child health across Nigeria.
