
The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, held an interactive meeting with staff of the JAMB State Office in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on 11 September 2025. The meeting, part of a nationwide series, addresses both personal and corporate concerns; some issues raised at the meeting are resolved on the spot while others are referred to the appropriate organs of the Board for further action.
The State Coordinator, Hakeem AbdulHameed, during the meeting expressed appreciation for the Registrar’s support and interpersonal approach to staff relations. He gives a positive account of his stewardship and presents several requests for support to enhance office delivery. Where possible, the Registrar acts promptly on those requests.
In his remarks, Oloyede commends staff for their excellent performance during the 2025 UTME and encourages them to sustain high standards. He outlines management’s efforts to improve staff welfare, including initiatives to secure affordable housing, enhanced retirement benefits, and other packages introduced by his administration. He emphasizes that management continues to seek ways, within the law, to improve working conditions and invites staff to speak freely about workplace and personal challenges.
Head of CBT Support Services, Akinwale Afolabi, thanks the Registrar for his support and seeks clarifications on some welfare processes. The Registrar clarifies outstanding issues to the satisfaction of staff, who express appreciation for his interventions. The Director of Human Resources Management, Gani Abd’rahim, also explains several HR matters raised during the meeting.
Other issues raised by staff include concerns relating to Board processes, particularly those involving Information Technology, staff welfare, and health matters. Staff take turns to commend the Registrar for making time to visit and for providing an open forum for discussion.
