Ann, a close friend of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has regained her freedom after spending two nights in detention, following her arrest over alleged theft.
The development was confirmed on Wednesday evening by Regina Daniels’ elder brother, Sammy, who shared the update via his Instagram story. According to him, Ann was released after the matter was adjourned to March 5, 2026.
Earlier on Wednesday, Sammy had raised concerns about the handling of the case, alleging that Ann was taken to court without access to her legal counsel or prior notification to her family. He claimed that details surrounding the court appearance and detention process were not properly communicated.
“Similar techniques. Not letting legal representative or family aware of the whereabouts. Not allowing anyone know the court, final stage prison. Case adjourned until March 5th,” Sammy wrote at the time.
Hours later, he announced her release in a brief follow-up post, stating, “My T.E.D. Ann is out.”
Ann was reportedly arrested in Lagos on Monday and subsequently flown to Abuja in a private jet. The arrest followed a theft allegation made by Regina Daniels’ estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
The fresh allegation emerged roughly two months after Regina Daniels reportedly parted ways with the senator amid claims of domestic violence. As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from Senator Nwoko regarding Ann’s release or the court proceedings.
The case is expected to resume on March 5, 2026, as legal processes continue.
