The family crisis involving Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has deepened following the remand of her brother, Sammy West, in Keffi Prison.
According to reports, Sammy was remanded on Thursday by a Dutse Magistrate without access to a lawyer. His older brother, known on Instagram as @sweezzy1, shared the news in a series of emotional posts, alleging irregularities in the judicial process.
“He is currently at Keffi Prison! Dutse Magistrate has suddenly disappeared. Ned, you can pay everybody but you can’t pay for integrity!” he wrote.
He questioned the grounds for Sammy’s detention, saying, “Everyone please help me ask Ned what is Sammy’s offense? Sammy said, ‘My lawyers are on their way. I was not given an opportunity to call anyone!’ Judge said, ‘Remand him till they can file for his bail.’ Bail has been filed, magistrate has disappeared, no one available to sign.”
He further accused Nwoko of using his influence to suppress justice. “Ned, the most powerful man in the universe, you still no fit big pass God!” he added.
In a video shared alongside the post, Sammy West was seen lamenting that he was denied access to legal counsel and contact with his family since his arrest on Monday.
“They didn’t allow me to call my lawyer. They didn’t allow my family to see me since I was arrested on Monday. Nobody knows where I was taken to,” Sammy said in the video.
Reports indicate that Sammy was arrested in Lagos on Monday and allegedly flown to Abuja aboard a private jet linked to Senator Nwoko.
Reacting to her brother’s ordeal, Regina Daniels claimed on Instagram that Sammy and her sister were arrested to compel her to submit herself for “rehabilitation.”
This follows earlier accusations from Senator Nwoko, who reportedly alleged that the actress was struggling with substance abuse, an allegation she has denied. Regina had previously accused the senator of domestic violence, a claim that has fueled public concern over the couple’s ongoing dispute.
As of the time of this report, neither Senator Nwoko nor his legal representatives have issued a formal statement regarding Sammy West’s detention.
