Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has broken down in a series of emotional videos shared on social media, expressing distress over the continued detention of her brother Samuel Ojeogwu popularly known as Sammy West.
In a video posted on her Instagram Story early Friday, the 25-year-old actress tearfully said she feels like she’s “going crazy” over her brother’s situation. Regina, who appeared visibly exhausted, repeated that she has “tried” and is still “trying.”
“I’ve tried. I’m trying. I feel like I’m going crazy. I’m losing my mind and it’s not making any sense. I’m finally crying in front of everybody. But please, what am I even begging for? I don’t know,” she said.
“Do you guys think it’s easy? Every time I’m waking up, I’m seeing one thing. Oh, my brother online, today I hear good news, oh he’s about to be free. Tomorrow I hear another thing. Like, what’s the problem? But I’m trying. I’ll go. I’ll go back. I’ll go back.”
The videos come amid Regina’s ongoing marital crisis with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, whom she had previously accused of ordering the arrest of her siblings. The lawmaker has yet to respond to her latest claims.
However, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has now clarified the reason behind Sammy West’s arrest, stating that it was based on a formal petition and not political influence.
In an interview with journalists, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that Sammy West was arrested after failing to honour several police invitations regarding a petition accusing him of conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
“Upon receipt of the petition, the Metro Area Command extended several invitations to Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu for questioning, which were not honoured. Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court, and subsequently conveyed to Abuja for further investigation,” Ms. Adeh said.
She added that the complaint, lodged on 28 October, named Sammy West and three others, and assured that the investigation followed due process.
“Upon the conclusion of investigations, the suspect was charged on November 6, 2025, in court for offences bordering on criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft. He has been remanded by the court pending fulfilling his bail conditions,” Adeh added.
Earlier, one of Regina’s brothers, Sweezzy, revealed via Instagram that Sammy West had appeared in court and was remanded at Suleja Prison in Niger State.
Meanwhile, Regina’s siblings have launched an online petition titled “Hold Ned Nwoko Accountable for Abuse of Power,” demanding justice and accountability. The petition, which has gathered thousands of signatures, alleges intimidation and misuse of influence by the lawmaker.
In another video, Regina addressed public mockery over her situation, saying:
“It’s okay to laugh. It’s really okay to laugh. As per, oh, when she was flaunting the wealth, were we enjoying it with her? It’s okay. But nobody ever flaunts their sadness. You know why? Because of this very reason, mockery.”
“As long as you’re not in my shoes, you will never understand. What were you guys expecting me to show off? That I was being beaten? That I was sad? No. And yes, actually, I think I’ll break this phone.”
