Afrobeats singer Reekado Banks has hit back at online critics who suggested he turned to church because he “failed” in his music career.
The backlash followed a viral clip showing Reekado worshipping alongside content creator Kesari, whom he had invited to his church after Kesari expressed interest in strengthening his faith.
Responding in a video, Reekado dismissed the remarks as baseless, stressing that his decision to serve God is a personal conviction unrelated to his professional journey.
“Yeah, forget that guy whose comment brought me down today. My friend even called to tell me to delete it. Forget you. Yesterday, I invited Kesari to church. Today I’m seeing it on Twitter and the comment was, ‘when they fail at music, they start going to church.’ Bro, na your house make I come?” he said.
The former Mavin Records star added that choosing faith should never be equated with failure in any field, including music.
Reekado also reassured fans that he remains active in the industry, continuing to work on fresh sounds. He urged his supporters to ignore negativity online and instead focus on their personal peace and growth.
