For nearly two decades, Eric Ominde was more than just a driver to the late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, he was a silent witness to history.
With eyes fixed on the road and hands steady on the wheel, Ominde steered Odinga through some of Kenya’s most pivotal political chapters. He braved tear gas-filled streets, endured long campaign trails, and navigated electrifying rallies as history unfolded before him.
The 43-year-old, who hails from Miwani in Muhoroni Constituency, Kisumu County, found his way to Odinga’s side by chance while he served as Minister for Roads, Public Works and Housing in former President Mwai Kibaki’s government.
