Turkish football pundit Mehmet Demirkol has predicted that Victor Osimhen could surpass Milan Baros’ goal record for Galatasaray if he maintains his current form.
Demirkol made the remark while analysing Galatasaray’s 3-1 victory over Göztepe in the Turkish Super Lig, where Osimhen played a key role.
Speaking on the Socrates Magazine YouTube channel (via Habersarikirmizi), Demirkol praised the Nigerian striker’s intensity and work rate, comparing his passion to that of former Turkish star Tuncay Şanlı.
“Osimhen’s style is very interesting. He truly reaches a new level every match,” Demirkol said.
“I remember the last time I saw this much passion in Tuncay Şanlı. He’s constantly pressing, going and wiping Sara’s shoes, etc.
It’s incredible. Osimhen could even surpass Baros at Galatasaray this season. He has 24 league matches, a European match, and a few cup appearances. If he keeps this up, he will do it.”
Baros scored 61 goals during his time at Galatasaray, while Osimhen has already netted 43 goals for the Turkish champions.
