Paris Saint-Germain and Brentford have reportedly entered the race to sign highly rated Nigerian midfielder Sani Suleiman, joining a growing list of European clubs keen on securing his signature. According to reports, the 19-year-old’s performances for AS Trenčín in Slovakia have continued to attract attention from top scouts across Europe.
Suleiman first caught the eye of international observers after an impressive showing with Nigeria’s U-20 team at the FIFA World Cup in Chile, and his steady progress in Slovakia has only heightened the demand for his services.
The former Akwa United starlet, who made the move to Trenčín just over a year ago, has already been linked with major European sides, including Tottenham Hotspur, Bayer Leverkusen, and Glasgow Rangers.
However, reports indicate that the competition for his signature has intensified, with French champions PSG, Premier League side Brentford, Dutch powerhouse Ajax, and Belgian champions Royal Antwerp now closely monitoring the midfielder ahead of the January transfer window.
According to the outlet, Suleiman’s next career move could soon take shape, as several clubs are expected to table concrete offers in the coming months.
“He had a great tournament, so the interest from other clubs is normal,” the British outlet said.
“PSG, Brentford, and Ajax have entered the race to sign Sani Suleiman, the interest is very strong, and talks are ongoing, but the next destination hasn’t been decided yet. It might not necessarily be Rangers, but anything is possible in football.”
