The Police Service Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has officially commenced the recruitment of 50,000 police constables, following approval from President Bola Tinubu.
The recruitment drive aligns with the President’s directive to strengthen community policing, enhance internal security, and expand the manpower of the Nigeria Police Force.
On November 26, 2025, President Tinubu declared a nationwide security emergency, mandating the recruitment of additional personnel to address rising insecurity across the country.
In a statement on Thursday, the PSC’s Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Torty Kalu, announced that the recruitment portal will open to eligible Nigerians from December 15, 2025, to January 25, 2026.
“The PSC, in collaboration with the NPF, is pleased to announce the commencement of recruitment for 50,000 Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force, as directed by President Bola Tinubu,” the statement said. “This initiative aims to strengthen community policing, enhance internal security, and expand the force’s manpower base.”
