Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has encouraged her fans to prioritise their happiness and well-being by setting clear boundaries and refusing to live solely to please others.
In a motivational message shared on social media, the actress noted that no one was born to endure constant stress or misery for the comfort of others. She urged people to stop saying “yes” to everything and everyone out of fear of upsetting them.
“Stop saying yes to everything and everyone. Stop agreeing with people just so you don’t upset them. You are not a pushover. You were not born to be stressed and miserable so others can be relaxed and happy,” Amusa wrote.
The actress, who is also a mother of one, emphasised the importance of protecting personal time and happiness, adding that anyone who demands others live in misery for their comfort should not be in their lives.
She went further to stress personal responsibility, pointing out that people are shaped by their decisions rather than their circumstances.
“The world owes us nothing. We are where we are because of our decisions, not because of our circumstances. Stop whining and start taking responsibility for yourself,” she added.
According to Amusa, true strength comes from a determined mindset, surrounding oneself with supportive people, and refusing to let negative situations or individuals dictate one’s life.
“Be big and bold enough to say this is my life! And I am responsible for it,” she concluded.
Amusa’s message has sparked conversations online, with many fans applauding her for using her platform to promote mental health awareness and self-care.
