A close associate of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, known as Primeboy, has publicly appealed for the artiste to be laid to rest nearly three years after his passing.
In a video message circulating online, Primeboy said Mohbad’s body has remained in the mortuary since September 12, 2023, as burial plans continue to face delays.
“It’s been almost three years since Mohbad left us. His body is still in the mortuary,” he said. “I’m begging the family, I’m begging the public, I’m begging the government, please let’s bury our brother. He deserves a befitting burial.”
Mohbad’s death triggered widespread public reaction at the time, including protests and calls for accountability. Authorities launched investigations, including autopsy examinations and police inquiries, in response to the circumstances surrounding his passing.
However, ongoing legal processes and reported disagreements within the family have stalled final burial arrangements.
Primeboy’s latest appeal adds renewed attention to the prolonged delay, as discussions around the singer’s legacy and the unresolved issues linked to his death continue to generate public interest.
As of now, no official date has been announced for Mohbad’s burial.
