President Bola Tinubu on Friday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna State.
The President was accompanied by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna, several state governors, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, ministers, senators, and other top government officials.
He was warmly received by Aisha Buhari, widow of the late former president, who welcomed the delegation on behalf of her children.
Earlier upon his arrival in Kaduna, President Tinubu attended the wedding ceremony of Nasirudeen Yari, son of former Zamfara State governor Senator Abdullaziz Yari, and Safiyya Idris, held at the Sultan Bello Mosque in the state capital.
The visit comes in the wake of the passing of former President Buhari, who died at The London Clinic on Sunday, July 13, 2025, after a prolonged illness.
His remains were flown into Nigeria and received by President Tinubu at the Katsina Airport, before being transported to his hometown of Daura.
Buhari was laid to rest with full military honours, including gun salutes and ceremonial processions befitting a former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. His burial was conducted in accordance with Islamic rites.
