The Presidency has acknowledged the important role civil society groups are playing in advancing Nigeria’s health sector reforms.
The Senior Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Health, Salma Anas-Kolo, gave the commendation during a meeting with representatives of various civil society organisations in Abuja.
She noted that CSOs have been instrumental in promoting accountability, supporting policy development, and ensuring that community perspectives are reflected in national health initiatives.
According to her, their collaboration with government agencies has helped strengthen implementation of key reforms under the current administration.
Anas-Kolo highlighted ongoing efforts to improve primary healthcare delivery, expand universal health coverage, and enhance the efficiency of health financing systems. She said meaningful engagement with civil society remains essential for achieving sustainable progress in the sector.
She reiterated the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and urged CSOs to continue providing constructive feedback and working with relevant ministries and institutions to ensure that reforms translate into real improvements for Nigerians.
