Premier Distilleries Limited (PDL) recently celebrated 25 years of presence in Uganda in an event that doubled as the grand finale of the Bikole Masavu promotion, a three-month nationwide campaign that rewarded customers for their loyalty and support.
The Bikole Masavu campaign attracted more than one million participants across Uganda, with over 400,000 people winning prizes such as airtime, mobile money, motorcycles, smartphones, and even a grand cash prize of Shs 50 million.
Winners from across the regions were rewarded through weekly draws and prize handovers in towns such as Mbale, Lira, Mbarara, Gulu, and Fort Portal. Godfrey Sseluta, the company’s sales manager, highlighted Premier Distillers Limited’s social and economic impact over the years.
“We have created more than 15,000 jobs directly and indirectly and supported traders who distribute our products. Through our CSR initiatives, we have funded surgeries and improved lives in the communities where we operate,” he noted.
He also called for stronger laws to protect legitimate businesses against competition from illicit alcohol, adding that government was losing out on tax revenues.
