Record producer and singer Pheelz has appealed to music fans to stop comparing artists, expressing concern over what he described as rising toxicity within fan communities.
In a post shared on X, the Afrobeats star said the growing habit of pitting artists against one another is unhealthy and distracts from the true purpose of music. He urged fans to focus on enjoying songs for their individuality rather than turning music conversations into rivalries.
According to Pheelz, every artist brings a distinct sound and creative perspective, which should be appreciated on its own merit. He warned that constant comparisons do more harm than good to the industry.
“Music was meant to be enjoyed, not to be compared,” he wrote. “This comparison game is hurting the sound and culture more than we can ever know.”
The producer added that fans should channel their energy into celebrating artists and their unique contributions, noting that diversity in sound is what strengthens the music scene and drives its global appeal.
