Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has joined admirers in celebrating acclaimed author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie on her 48th birthday.
In a heartfelt tribute on X, Obi described Adichie as a “literary Amazon” and a source of inspiration for millions around the world. He praised her literary talent, noting how her works enrich global literature while uplifting humanity.
Obi highlighted her contributions beyond writing, particularly her mentorship of young writers through literary workshops that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and bold ambition.
“Chimamanda has blossomed into a true literary giant, whose writings enrich global literature while uplifting humanity. She has used her extraordinary gift to tell our stories with dignity and raise new generations of storytellers,” Obi wrote.
He also commended Adichie for honoring her roots, recalling her return to her alma mater and reconnection with teachers from as far back as her primary school days. “In that simple yet profound act, she reminded us all that the journey forward is strongest when anchored in gratitude to the past,” he added.
Obi concluded his message by wishing Adichie continued strength, wisdom, and joy, praying that her influence and light continue to shine brightly for both Nigeria and the world.
“On this special day, I celebrate her not only as my sister but also as a beacon of inspiration to millions. May God continue to strengthen her, bless her in the years ahead with wisdom and joy, and make her light shine even brighter for Nigeria and the world,” he wrote.
