Former Big Brother Naija housemate and actor Pere Egbi has cautioned young single women in Nigeria against living alone, pointing to safety and security concerns.
Egbi shared the advice in a post on X, where he encouraged women to consider staying with friends or family members rather than living by themselves. According to him, having someone around provides both companionship and an added layer of protection.
“Personal advice to young women living in Nigeria who are single, don’t live alone by yourself. Have someone stay with you always. A friend, family member/s. It’s never a cool thing to live alone as a woman,” he wrote.
The reality TV star’s comments come in the wake of the recent death of female singer Ifunanya Nwangene, who reportedly passed away after suffering a snake bite at her residence in Abuja.
When asked whether his remarks were influenced by the incident, Egbi responded, “everything,” stressing that living alone poses risks and is not ideal for anyone, regardless of gender.
His comments have since sparked conversations online around personal safety, living arrangements, and the broader challenges faced by individuals living alone in urban areas across the country.
