Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has insisted that the Premier League title is far from decided, despite his team currently trailing leaders Arsenal by six points.
Speaking to the media on Friday ahead of Sunday’s high-stakes Super Sunday clash with rivals Liverpool, Guardiola emphasized that there is still plenty of football to be played and that City remain in contention for the league crown.
On Arsenal’s current advantage at the top of the table, Guardiola remarked:
“If they continue to play games and not concede goals, it will be almost impossible.
“Always you expect that you can be better and they will drop points. All we can do is win our games and get closer.
“The last two or three years, after the process to rebuild the club and the team, they are there. It is exceptional what they are doing for two or three seasons.
“But it is early November. Nobody wins the title in early November. You can lose it – but nobody wins it.”
Guardiola’s comments underline Manchester City’s focus on maintaining consistency in their performances while keeping pace with Arsenal as the Premier League season enters a critical phase ahead of the upcoming international break.
