Social media personality Peller has stirred conversation online after presenting his partner, Jarvis, with a brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 for her birthday.
The luxury SUV, valued at several millions of naira, was unveiled in a video that quickly gained traction across social media platforms. In the clip, Jarvis appeared visibly emotional as she received the surprise gift.
While many fans praised the gesture as romantic and generous, others questioned the scale of the purchase. Some critics compared it to a previous car gift Peller bought for his mother, sparking debates about priorities and spending.
Reacting to the backlash in a separate video, Peller defended his decision, insisting that the gift reflected both his affection and financial standing.
He explained that even when purchasing a vehicle for his mother, he exceeded her initial request. According to him, she had wanted a Toyota valued at ₦9 million, but he opted instead for a Hyundai worth ₦20 million, noting that critics would have complained regardless of the choice.
“Am I the first person to buy his girlfriend a car?” he asked. “I love my baby. I didn’t buy Jarvis a car just so she can stay with me; she deserves it. I don’t care if she leaves me later.”
Peller further stated that he is willing to do even more in the future, especially if their relationship progresses.
