The Forum of Zonal and State Youth Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Southwest Zonal Youth Leader Comrade Seyi Bamidele, has declared total loyalty and unflinching support for Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum and the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
In a statement released following an emergency consultative meeting, the forum warned against attempts by self-serving political actors posing as party loyalists to destabilise the PDP through indiscipline and conspiratorial actions.
“Our great party will not be hijacked by a handful of disgruntled, self-seeking individuals whose only motivation is money and personal gain. The so-called meeting convened by a few impostors to endorse illegality is a disgrace to the ideals and values of the PDP. Their action stands condemned in the strongest terms possible,” the forum stated.
The youth leaders reaffirmed their confidence in Damagum’s leadership, describing him as a steady, unifying figure who has preserved peace, inclusiveness, and order within the party even during turbulent periods.
Comrade Bamidele emphasised that genuine PDP youth across all six geo-political zones remain fully committed to the NWC and are mobilising extensively for the upcoming Ibadan 2025 National Youth Convention, calling it a “mass movement and rebirth of the PDP youth structure.”
“We are not distracted by noise from political jobbers. Our mobilisation for the Ibadan convention is massive, legitimate, and unstoppable. We shall prove once again that the PDP remains a disciplined, democratic, and organised family not a playground for hirelings,” the statement concluded.
The forum urged all loyal PDP youth members to remain steadfast, resist manipulation, and work together to reclaim the party’s leadership dominance and strengthen its organisational structure ahead of future elections.
