In a decisive move to enforce party discipline, the PDP’s NEC on Tuesday expelled Oyo, Bauchi, and Zamfara governors, along with several senior party officials, citing anti-party activities and defiance of court orders. The party also approved the dissolution of State Executive Councils in Bauchi, Oyo, Zamfara, Yobe, Lagos, Edo, and Ekiti States.
The decisions were announced at the party’s 103rd NEC meeting held at the national secretariat in Abuja. Acting National Chairman Mohammed Abdulrahman presented the memo for expulsion, stating that the affected members’ actions had brought the party into disrepute.
According to the NEC communique read by National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the expulsions targeted individuals who violated court orders, organized unauthorized conventions, and engaged in activities undermining the party’s unity.
The NEC also ratified Chidiebere Goodluck as Acting National Vice Chairman (South East) and directed deputies in vacant National Working Committee positions to assume acting roles.
The party called for immediate constitutional action to reclaim positions of elected officials who defected and announced a nationwide reconciliation initiative, alongside a membership audit and revalidation ahead of the 2027 elections.
The NEC emphasized that the measures were aimed at restoring discipline, unity, and public confidence in the PDP.
