The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, following a string of high-profile defections to the opposition party.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, after an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja.
According to the statement, the postponement was necessitated by recent political developments within the party and was approved in line with Section 29 (2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).
“The National Working Committee, after careful consideration of recent events, has resolved to postpone the 103rd meeting of the National Executive Committee. A new date will be communicated to members in due course,” Ologunagba stated.
He urged all NEC members to take note of the adjustment and await further directives from the party’s leadership.
The postponement comes amid mounting internal tension and ongoing defections of key party figures, including governors and legislators, to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) — a development observers say may reshape the nation’s political landscape ahead of the next election cycle.
